Why Recorded Tarot Readings Remove Cold Reading Completely
One concern some people naturally have around tarot readings and spiritual guidance is the fear of being cold read.
Cold reading is a technique often associated with scammers, frauds, and performers who try to gather information from a person through observation, reactions, body language, tone of voice, or carefully worded statements that encourage the client to reveal details about themselves without realising it. A lot of scepticism around psychics comes from this, and honestly, that concern is understandable.
But the way I personally read tarot and provide pendulum guidance makes cold reading impossible. Most of my readings are done asynchronously and recorded privately rather than performed live or face-to-face. I’m not sitting across from clients watching their expressions, analysing reactions, listening to changes in tone, or steering a conversation to pull information from them. Often all I receive is a name, a date of birth, and the question they would like guidance on. There's no back-and-forth conversation for me to read anything from.
That means the reading process becomes focused entirely on the cards, symbolism, intuition, astrology, pendulum guidance, and the patterns that emerge throughout the reading itself rather than any reaction from the client. I usually spend a significant amount of time sitting with the cards and reflecting on the themes, emotional dynamics, and spiritual influences surrounding the situation rather than trying to rush toward dramatic answers.
For me, tarot has never been about performance. I’m not interested in trying to shock people with exaggerated claims or convincing them I know every detail of their life. My approach is much quieter and more reflective than that. I use tarot, pendulum guidance, birth cards, and astrological influences as tools to explore emotional patterns, possible outcomes, hidden dynamics, timing, and perspective.
A lot of people who seek readings are not looking for someone to tell them who they are. Usually, they already have strong feelings about their situation. What they are often searching for is clarity, reassurance, confirmation, or a better understanding of emotions and circumstances they have struggled to make sense of on their own.
That is one reason I prefer recorded readings. It allows the reading to exist without pressure, performance, or emotional influence from a live interaction. The client can sit with the guidance privately in their own time, revisit it afterwards, and reflect on it without feeling overwhelmed in the moment.
Not everyone will connect with tarot or spiritual work, and that's completely fine. Healthy scepticism is understandable, and I think should be welcomed, especially in an area where there are unfortunately people who manipulate vulnerability for money or attention.
I do think there is an important difference between genuine spiritual reflection and someone attempting to manipulate a person through psychological tricks or observation techniques. The way I work removes that dynamic entirely.
At the end of the day, my goal is not to read people in the psychological sense. My focus is on offering thoughtful spiritual guidance through tarot, pendulum work, symbolism, and reflection in a way that feels calm, personal, and genuinely helpful.
In many ways, the experience is far closer to reflective guidance or emotional support than the exaggerated image people often associate with psychic trickery. My role is to listen, help, support, and create space for clarity, so that through tarot, pendulum guidance, and spiritual reflection, you can better understand the answers and direction you may already be searching for within yourself and the universe around you.
