Why People Seek Reassurance More Than Answers
One thing I've noticed through years of providing tarot readings, pendulum guidance, and spiritual support is that what most people are actually looking for is reassurance.
That might sound surprising at first, but when you spend enough time speaking to people about relationships, uncertainty, life decisions, and emotional struggles, a pattern begins to emerge.
Many people already know what they feel. Deep down, they often already know what they want. The difficulty is that uncertainty has a way of making us doubt ourselves. When emotions are involved, especially around love, reconciliation, waiting, career decisions, family situations, or major life changes, even the clearest feelings can become clouded by fear, anxiety, and overthinking.
Suddenly every possibility feels equally likely. Every decision feels risky. Every silence feels significant. And when that happens, people naturally begin searching for certainty. Sometimes people are not searching for a new answer, they're searching for permission to trust the answer they already have.
Reassurance is such a deeply human need. There is a tendency to treat reassurance as though it is a weakness or something people should simply stop seeking. But uncertainty is emotionally exhausting. Human beings are not designed to sit comfortably inside unanswered questions forever.
We seek reassurance because we want to feel safe. We seek reassurance because we want clarity. We seek reassurance because carrying uncertainty alone can feel incredibly heavy. Seeking reassurance is not weakness, it's a natural response to uncertainty.
This is also why people often start looking for signs. When someone is worried about a relationship, they notice songs, numbers, dreams, repeated themes, and small coincidences that seem connected to their situation. When they are facing an important decision, they begin searching for confirmation that they are moving in the right direction. I think many people do this because they are trying to find stability in situations where they feel emotionally untethered. They are trying to reconnect with trust. Not necessarily trust in the universe, although absolutely that, but mainly trust in themselves.
People often seek guidance when they feel emotionally alone with a decision. That's where tarot readings can be particularly valuable. Contrary to what many people assume, I don't think tarot is always about revealing something completely unknown. More often, tarot creates structure around thoughts and feelings that already exist beneath the surface. The cards help organise emotional noise and create a framework for reflection. They allow people to step outside the endless loops of overthinking and look at a situation from a different perspective. Often the greatest gift of a tarot reading is clarity.
A good reading can help someone understand why they feel conflicted, what emotional influences may be affecting them, what patterns continue repeating, and where their energy is currently being directed. Clarity calms the mind. Confusion feeds anxiety. This is one reason I personally find spiritual guidance so valuable.
Even when I seek guidance myself, I often find that the process forces me to slow down and think more objectively about what is happening. Writing out questions clearly, reflecting on a situation, and taking time to explore it thoughtfully creates a kind of mindfulness that anxiety rarely allows. If you get answers by just filling out the form to book the service and never click the "Book" button that's great! Sometimes the act of seeking guidance is calming in itself because it creates space between you and the emotional storm.
Spellwork often serves a similar purpose, but in a different way. One reason people seek spellwork is because uncertainty can create a feeling of helplessness. When someone feels stuck, whether in a relationship, financial situation, personal goal, or life transition, they often feel as though nothing is moving forward. That feeling of stagnation can become emotionally draining.
Spellwork provides something many people desperately need during difficult periods: a sense of movement, a sense of participation. A sense that they are actively directing energy toward change rather than simply waiting for life to happen to them.
Hope feels easier to hold when action exists alongside it. Whether someone views spellwork as energetic influence, spiritual practice, symbolic action, or a combination of all three, the experience often helps people feel more connected to their intentions and less trapped by circumstances beyond their control.
At its heart, much of spiritual guidance exists because uncertainty is one of the hardest things human beings experience. We want to know where we stand. We want to know if things will be okay. We want to know whether we are making the right choices. And sometimes we simply want someone to help us see our situation more clearly.
That is why I have never viewed tarot readings, pendulum guidance, or spellwork as being purely about prediction. For me, they are tools for clarity, reflection, empowerment, and emotional understanding. They help people reconnect with themselves, trust their intuition, and find calm in situations that have become emotionally overwhelming.
Because sometimes the answer is not hidden. Sometimes it is already there. Sometimes what people need most is the reassurance to believe it.
